Pinkysan is Sick

2026-04-21

A few days after arriving at her new home, the house was usually filled with the sounds of play. But tonight, the atmosphere was different. Pinkysan was very sad. All through the night, a tiny, lonely sound echoed through the hallways: "Mew, mew..."

Pinkysan was not her usual brave self. She missed her mother, and she missed the warmth of her brothers and sisters. Because she was so lonely, she didn't even want to eat her delicious kitten food. She just sat in the corner of her bed, looking very small and tired.

"Oh no," Lyn said, her voice filled with concern as she knelt on the floor. "Linda, come here! I think Pinkysan is sick. She hasn't touched her breakfast at all."

Star was very worried, too. The big Shiba Inu didn't understand why her little friend wasn't jumping on her tail today. Star sat quietly next to the kitten’s bed, her head tilted to the side. Slowly, Star reached out and touched Pinkysan’s side with her big, soft paw. It was like a gentle, furry hug. However, even with Star’s comfort, Pinkysan continued to cry.

Lyn knew she had to act quickly. She carefully placed Pinkysan into a small travel basket and took her to the local veterinary clinic. At the animal hospital, the smell of medicine was strong, but the doctor was very kind. He checked Pinkysan’s heartbeat and looked into her bright green eyes.

"Is she going to be okay, Doctor?" Lyn asked nervously, holding her hands together.

The doctor smiled warmly at Lyn. "Don't worry, she doesn't have a fever. She is just 'homesick.' She is very young, and she misses her mother's company. Here is some special medicine to help her tummy, but the best cure is time. Give her lots of love and make sure she feels safe."

When Lyn and Pinkysan finally returned home, Star was waiting right at the front door. Her tail gave a single, happy wag when she saw the kitten was back. That evening, Star refused to leave the room. She stayed by Pinkysan’s bed all night long, watching her little sister like a professional nurse.

Lyn carefully gave Pinkysan the medicine and a bowl of warm, creamy milk. "Sleep well, little Pinkysan," Lyn whispered, stroking the kitten's soft ears. "You are not alone anymore. We are your family now."

Soon, the warm milk worked its magic. The kitten stopped shivering and fell into a deep, peaceful sleep. Star let out a long sigh of relief and lay down on the floor right next to the bed. The house was quiet and peaceful again, filled with the love of a family that takes care of its own.
